President and CEO Daniel Speckhard, sharing Lutheran World Relief’s vision for the future and how generous gifts like yours will help to create a world where every neighbor can live a full, dignified life. Daniel Speckhard is President and CEO of Lutheran World Relief. A former U.S. Ambassador to Greece and Belarus, Daniel has had a long and distinguished career in government service under both Republican and Democratic administrations. A descendant of a long line of Lutheran pastors, Daniel says his Lutheran upbringing instilled in him a strong core value of service to others and a deep desire to contribute to alleviating poverty, suffering and injustice in the world. |

Chief Humanitarian Officer Tamara Demuria, examining how generosity like yours rushed immediate aid to our neighbors in Haiti when the earthquake struck earlier this year — even before fundraising campaigns began collecting vital emergency funds. Tamara Demuria has served in various overseas and US-based senior positions with international humanitarian and development organizations over 20 years of her professional career, managing multi-million-dollar responses to crises around the world and working on the program quality, partnerships, and innovation across local and international stakeholders. Her passion lies in supporting beyond immediate lifesaving operations and represent the voices of most vulnerable and affected communities to seek sustainable development opportunities, even in most protracted humanitarian crises. Originally from the Republic of Georgia, she believes that “being a humanitarian is not just a job, it’s a calling.”

Cindy Aegerter from Thrivent, showcasing the joy of tax-efficient giving, estate planning and maximizing the effectiveness of your gifts, including tips on where to go for expert advice support. Cindy Aegerter serves as a Senior Gift Planner and has been a member of the Charitable Giving Services team at Thrivent Charitable Impact & Investing since 2004. In her role as Gift Planner, Cindy Provides guidance, support and training to financial professionals across the country; and consults with donors and their advisors to develop giving solutions for their charitable financial goals. In addition, she works with churches and nonprofits that hold their endowments at Thrivent Charitable to educate their supporters and promote planned giving.

Kiron Ojha, country director for Nepal, bringing to life the emergency aid supplied to forsaken neighbors in Nepal and where gifts in wills enabled a planned and agile response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Kiran Ojha is Country Director of Lutheran World Relief Nepal. Kiran comes from a rural background and is a development professional working in non-government Sector in Nepal for more than three decades. Kiran has experience and expertise both in humanitarian assistance and community development sectors as he has led number of development projects and has provided leadership on relief and rehabilitation program during natural calamities (earthquake and major flood) in Nepal. Kiran is passionate in achieving the organizational mission of alleviating human suffering and discrimination through empowering the marginalized youths, women and disabled. Kiran is equally passionate in creating awareness and tackling the climate change impacts in high mountain regions.

Rev. Lisa Kipp, affirming God’s love for all, providing blessings to your gifts and reflecting on what these gifts will mean to our neighbors in generations to come. Rev. Lisa Kipp leads the congregational engagement team at Lutheran World Relief. In her role, she connects congregations across the United States with LWR’s work of bringing lifesaving aid and long-term hope to our most vulnerable neighbors around the world. Prior to this role, Rev. Kipp served an ELCA congregation in Rochester, Minn., for nearly 20 years. While serving in the parish, she launched a local food truck ministry, guided a partnership with a rural hospital in Tanzania, and led more than 25 service-learning trips to locations in the U.S. and around the world. She continues to live in Rochester with her husband and three teenage sons.

Lee Grant, Planned Giving Manager, event host and facilitator. Lee Grant joined Lutheran World Relief in January 2021, and as Planned Giving Manager, his role is to create and facilitate a program of support and recognition for those that have committed a planned gift. Based in London, England, Lee’s career has spanned over two decades in a range of UK charities, specializing in tax-efficient and planned giving. Lee now fulfils his passion to balance injustice and provide humanitarian support to neighbors that need it most.
