Jia Layman brings more than seven years of fundraising and donor relations experience to her work as a Senior Donor Advisor for Lutheran World Relief, joining the team in September 2026. 

As a Lutheran, Jia was deeply drawn to Lutheran World Relief's vision of a healthy world forever flourishing in dignity and justice. She feels privileged to work alongside donors whose generosity helps communities around the world overcome poverty, build resilience, and create opportunities for lasting change. 

As a donor advisor, she is passionate about building authentic relationships and helping donors connect their faith, values, and philanthropic goals with meaningful impact. She sees her role as a trusted resource and partner, helping supporters stay connected to the life-changing work they make possible through Lutheran World Relief. 

A graduate of Oregon State University, Jia lives in Portland, Oregon, and attends St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Beaverton. She is a lifelong lover of travel and finds every chance she can to create fellowship with family and friends.
