Paul Macek
Managing Director, Rural Economies, Climate and Agricultural Livelihoods
Paul Macek oversees the technical quality of the organization’s approach to agriculture and economic development and serves as its Managing Director and Global Practice Head. Paul brings his passion and experience in working with the private sector, especially cocoa industry partnerships, and agricultural sustainability to all of Corus’ work across the globe and through its innovative partnerships with governments, the private sector and smallholder farmers. With over two decades of experience living and working in Africa, Paul has also developed a deep passion for social impact investing and entrepreneurship on the continent.
Before joining Corus International, Paul worked with several prominent international relief and development non-profits. He was the vice president for programs at the World Cocoa Foundation, where he managed a global portfolio of programs in cocoa sustainability across agricultural, social, and environmental dimensions. As the senior director for food security and livelihoods with World Vision, Paul led a team responsible for the acquisition and implementation of more than 30 programs and projects worldwide. Paul also held several prominent positions with Catholic Relief Services throughout sub-Saharan Africa.
Paul earned a B.A. in History and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and holds an M.A. in International Affairs from American University. Paul also sits on the board of Latitude Trading, a Ugandan-based cocoa and chocolate company focused on sustainable sourcing and farmer impact.
