It's been nearly a year since a magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck Nepal near the capital city of Kathmandu on April 25th. Since that time, LWR and partners have been working with communities in the heavily affected Lamjung and Ghorka districts to provide immediate relief and long-term recovery assistance.
With your generous support, LWR began immediately responding to the earthquake, assessing needs on the ground and working with partners to distribute food, shelter kits, and other urgently needed items. Work has now shifted to long-term recovery and livelihood rebuilding. Read more about LWR's response to the Nepal earthquake.
Michael (Mike) Johnson, an LWR Philanthropic Advisor, recently traveled to the Ghorka district to see the work first-hand. While there, he kept a video diary where he introduces you to LWR staff, partners and the people you are reaching through your gifts.
