School children embrace their new quilts and kits, made possible by your love.

Your love brings quilts and kits to displaced school children in Mali

Imagine two very different worlds.

In one, a gathering of Lutherans flock into a church rec room. Bright and colorful fabric squares fan out on tables, ready to be perfectly designed. In the corner, piles of empty drawstring bags, poised and ready to be filled with notebooks, boxes of crayons, pencils and other school supplies. The smell of the percolating coffee and the welcoming chatter fill the room as everyone gets settled at their spots. This is their favorite time of the month, getting together with their friends for this purpose. They will never meet those who will ultimately receive their handiwork, but they feel their gratitude and God’s love is shared just the same.

Thousands of miles away, another group gathers. The colors here are also bright, bringing vibrant blues and lush reds to the dusty brown sand that otherwise dominates the view. The children in the crowd light up with joy as big as Christmas morning, hugging backpacks filled with much-needed school supplies.

While these worlds are oceans apart, your boundless love bridges even the greatest divides.

Here, in the Bete Displacement Camp in Mali, gifts such as these are life-changing. For the children, it means they can continue their education better prepared. For parents, it means their families will stay warm in harsh winters because of the quilts.

See your love in action.

Though you are separated by oceans, you are connected to the neighbors you serve through a profound invisible string of God’s love.

Thank you for your ministry, and for bringing joy and hope to our neighbors in Mali.
