In your caring heart, you wish all your neighbors a peaceful and joyous Christmas and will do all you can to help those who won’t get that wish this year.
No peace on earth
For young mothers like Bageni, the warm sentiments of joy to the world and peace on Earth could not be further from reality. Because their village in the Democratic Republic of Congo is under brutal attacks, they’ve been forced to flee.
“Our house was on the edge of the forest,” Bageni says. “[The soldiers] found us there —when they got to the front, they started bombing…we ran; they were cutting people’s throats.”
She was so terrified, she left with nothing. She ran without clothes or shoes.
You can help neighbors like Bageni now!
Just in time for Christmas, a group of caring donors who want to help your neighbors, like Bageni and her family, has challenged you to send a gift by December 25. When you do, your gift will be matched dollar for dollar! That means:
The situation around the Goma region in the DRC is dire, causing thousands of civilians to leave their homes and seek safety. This immense need causes camps to be overcrowded and resources to deplete quickly.
Before the war, Bageni had a good, peaceful life. She farmed and sold potatoes on a plot near her home that was adjacent to the forest.
Now she’s forced to live in a cramped camp, where nothing can grow. The ground is black, made from hardened lava left over from a volcanic eruption years ago. It floods when heavy rain falls, and there is always the gut-wrenching threat of violence.
The constant sound of bullets reminds Bageni she’s not safe at night —there’s no silent night for her this Christmas.
When you reach out your hand and share your blessings, you show your neighbors who feel forgotten they have someone in the world who cares.
As we anticipate the birth of Christ, give a truly meaningful gift this Christmas — while it will MULTIPLY 2X up to $100,000.
Our match only extends until December 25. Will you double your love for neighbors like Bageni this Christmas?
Through your love and unwavering generosity, you are reaching children and families in urgent need and shining Christ’s light into their lives this Christmas. God bless you and thank you.
