Your love perseveres in Lebanon

For our neighbors and staff in Lebanon, the fear of conflict is constant. Thousands are on the move, fleeing the terrifying known to the equally terrifying unknown.

Your love is greeting them.

For more than a year, the Israel-Hamas war has raged on. Until recently, much of the violence and devastation had been contained to the areas along the border of Israel and Lebanon. That all changed on September 23 when violence intensified, leaving nearly a fifth of the population on the run. Many of these include 1.5 million Syrian refugees who have been calling Lebanon home since fleeing their own country’s war.

In the immediate aftermath of the attacks, your compassion provided emergency food parcels and LWR Quilts and Kits. And months on, you are still comforting our neighbors.

Your love provides essential needs — and critical comfort

Your kindness is providing hygiene kits, warm meals and fuel. It’s installing showers and providing water purifiers to shelters housing our displaced neighbors. It’s showing up as critical trauma counseling for both children and adults.

This relentless love of yours not only greets those who have faced inconceivable heartbreak, it encourages our staff, many of whom are affected by the violence themselves. Your compassion reaches them like an empowering jolt — lifting them up and affirming their courage, dedication, and humanitarian spirit as they endure and witness with our Lebanese neighbors these gut-wrenching experiences.

And your love won’t stop any time soon.

As escalating shelling affects more and more people, villages are emptying due to growing insecurity. Your faithful hearts allow continued and steadfast support.

Here’s what your love is providing for some
42,000 displaced neighbors across the country:

  • LWR Quilts
  • Personal Care Kits
  • School Kits
  • Baby Kits
  • Fabric Kits

In the Zehla-Bekaa area of Lebanon, your love is reaching hundreds of neighbors in five school/shelters with:

  • Personal hygiene items
  • Clean water through shower installation
  • Clean drinking water
  • Fuel for heating
  • Mental health counseling

North of Beirut, you’re providing:

  • Shelter
  • Hygiene kits
  • Menstrual pads and packages
  • Food packages
  • Fuel for heating

Amid violent uncertainty, your love provides for the physical needs of those who are suffering so much. But it is also providing something greater — hope. And for those without any, that can be the greatest gift of all. Thank you.

BE THE HOPE
