When disasters strike, your compassion surrounds our neighbors immediately.

When disaster strikes…your heart reaches them first

When disasters strike around the world, your caring heart is the first comforting beat your neighbors feel when they’ve lost everything.

Because of you, we can respond immediately to help devastated families — whose lives have been turned upside down by natural disasters such as Hurricanes Milton and Helene or conflicts such as in Lebanon — rebuild their lives and restore hope.

But to continue delivering immediate comfort and help to our neighbors, we need your love once more. Together, we can channel your generosity into immediate action when disaster strikes.

RESTORE HOPE NOW

Your lifesaving gift will be put to work quickly to reach children and their families with lifesaving emergency supplies like food, water and safe shelter.

Our world presents endless ways for kind people like you to do a world of good when we respond with compassion — together. You are shining Christ’s light into people’s lives during their darkest hours.

Neighbors in the path of Hurricane Milton and Hurricane Helene are broken-hearted and uncertain of their next steps. But they are not alone. Your compassion is meeting them amid destruction, with quilts, kits, food and other emergency supplies. In fact, your love was at the ready, even before the hurricane landed, so the first thing our neighbors saw when the storm had passed was the loving generosity of your Christian hearts.

REBUILD LIVES NOW

To Leila, fear, violence and hunger are a horrific, everyday reality. Your love provided emergency food and quilts.

In Lebanon, Leila Fawaz lives in fear. She is constantly battling violence and hunger. Families like hers are caught in the crossfire of fighting in her homeland. This new wave of violence, including the recent pager bombings, has forced Leila and others who are already hurting deeper into chaos and starvation. Your caring heart has delivered emergency food and water to 500 families and personal care kits to 1,000 neighbors.

Because of you, Nyaluit’s sons (center in blue and red) received emergency medical help when no one else could help.

In South Sudan, Nyaluit Chuol and her children live in a camp with other families who were forced to flee their homes to escape devastating violence. Her sons, 4-year-old Nyayien and 2-year-old Mar, were both starving and got very sick with measles. These precious children needed to be rushed to a hospital but couldn’t get there through the floodwaters. Your love came to the rescue…just in time! We were able to provide a motorboat to serve as ambulance and transport medical supplies to help families like Nyaluit’s.

Hours after a tragic explosion, your kindness helped our neighbors when a children’s hospital was bombed.

In Ukraine, a children’s hospital was struck by a missile in July, killing 42 of God’s precious children and injuring at least 150 others. Thanks to your generous gifts, your love was there. We raced to the scene with first responders, delivering personal care kits and quilts to children and their families affected by this violent attack. During wartime, being ready to immediately take action is essential.

By making an emergency gift today, your love and generosity will be rushed to the front lines to your neighbors in need — wherever they are, whenever disaster strikes.

Your generous and lifesaving gift will ease the devastating burdens of your global neighbors, like those in Lebanon, South Sudan and Ukraine.

You’ll provide emergency food…safe shelter…clean water…critically needed medical supplies…transportation and much more as soon as emergency strikes.

SHARE YOUR LOVE TODAY

Because of your loyalty and dedication to your neighbors in need, Lutheran World Relief will remain on the ground to help families rebuild and to restore hope — long after the headlines fade, and other organizations have left. And your gifts will help ensure they are better prepared for the next emergency.

Without your love, your neighbors who lost everything will continue to suffer. With your love, we can save the lives of God’s children as soon as disaster strikes.

Thank you for your continued compassion.
