This Advent, your compassion provides support for those hurting today — and builds a better tomorrow.

With the Advent season upon us, we wait in anticipation and hope for the birth of our savior. His arrival brings the fulfillment of God’s promise of the newborn Messiah and reminds us of our promised future.

Like God’s promise, your compassion is a blessing both in the here and now and in the future.

In times of crisis — the earthquake in Türkiye, the war in Ukraine — your love is there. It provides essentials like shelter and food, comfort and warmth through quilts and kits, and mental health support.

For neighbors like Diana, it brought a haven after the horrors of war. Separated from her parents while visiting her grandparents, at one point during the occupation, Diana was shielded from shrapnel by her grandmother’s body. She arrived at a safe haven, timid and barely speaking. You greeted her with shelter, warm meals and peace of mind.

Diana finds her smile again during art therapy at a long-term shelter in Kharkiv, Ukraine.

Your kindness also builds brighter, more sustainable futures. In places like Peru, your support empowers our neighbors to break the vicious cycle of poverty.

Sarita and her family stand in front of one of their cacao groves. Because of you, Sarita’s parents have increased their income and improved their lives, building a better future for their children.

Because of you, Sarita won’t face the struggles of her parents, Daria and William. Daria and William are key members of Qori Warmi, a women's cacao cooperative in Peru supported by your love. Through training and support, the women of the cooperative have been able to increase their household income and improve their families' lives by growing organic cacao and making award-winning chocolate.

Advent is the season of hope. Because of your love, our neighbors in need around the world are experiencing this hope, many for the first time. Thank you for your continued compassion, today and in the future.
