Paul Auxila
Chief of Party, USAID Improved Health Service Delivery Activity (IHSD) and Managing Director, Haiti
Paul Auxila has more than 30 years of experience in design, management, and implementation of international development, global health, and international operations.
Before joining Corus International and IMA World Health, he was a senior advisor at the World Bank working with the Haitian Ministry of Health to enhance effectiveness of foreign aid. He was also a liaison officer with the Global Financing Facility and an advisor with Abt Associates to the MOH, working to improve donors’ coordination. He has also previously led four USAID international health projects.
Before returning to Haiti in 2017, Mr. Auxila was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Management Sciences for Health, a $300-million Boston-based international health management group. He oversaw the technical portfolio of the organization and successfully led its global operations in 40+ countries.
He has overseen more than 120 international development projects in more than forty countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean, and has held several positions, including those of director of international projects, country representative, and senior technical advisor in governance, management, and strengthening of health systems. He also consulted with several international organizations as a strategic advisor in international health and business development.
He holds an Executive Management Certificate from MIT’s Sloan School of Management’s Executive Management Program and a B.S.I.E Magna Cum Laude in Industrial Engineering (Systems) from the University of Puerto Rico.
He is fluent in French, Haitian Creole, English, Spanish, and has a working knowledge of Portuguese.
