Donor advised funds, or DAFs, offer more than convenience.
They offer your love to your neighbors in need.
Donor advised funds are the fastest-growing form of philanthropy in use today. If you use a donor advised fund for your charitable giving, you can extend your love to reach a world of neighbors in need.
A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) provides you with tax-efficient way to make gifts to your favorite charities — like Lutheran World Relief — flexibly and conveniently.
How it works
GIVE
You make a gift to create a fund with a section 501(c)(3) DAF provider (see list below) and potentially become eligible for an immediate tax deduction.
Your DAF can be funded in many ways including: cash, appreciated assets such as stocks and securities, mutual funds, private business interests, non-publicly traded assets and property.
GROW
Your fund assets grow over time through managed investment (based on your own preferences) and potentially grow tax-free while you decide when and where to designate your support.
You can contribute to your DAF at any time and potentially receive immediate tax deductions on your contributions.
GRANT
You make grants to your favorite causes and organizations — like Lutheran World Relief — when it’s convenient for you to do so – or in times of greatest need.
There are no minimum distributions and if preferred, you can give anonymously.
Lutheran World Relief encourages you to discuss this option with your financial advisor who can help you understand the nuances of giving this way in the context of your unique financial and tax situation.
An easy transaction, built on confidence
Rest easy with the confidence of knowing when you choose to give from your donor advised fund, your kindness will support a trusted organization with more than 75 years of experience bringing your love to neighbors who need it most.
