Double your love this Giving Tuesday

Mariam Sanogo, a rural farmer in Mali, has resolved herself to life’s harsh reality — sometimes she will simply be hungry. The family’s crop yields have diminished in recent years as food prices have risen to unaffordable levels and finding food is a serious problem in her community.

"There are some days that you will sleep on an empty stomach," she says. "If the family meal is not sufficient, you have nothing, and you will go to bed hungry."

But try as she might, Mariam cannot reconcile this fact for her 19-month-old daughter, Djeneba Dramé.

This Giving Tuesday, your love can fill the belly of a hungry child in need.

Mariam and her daughter, Djeneba. The toddler was hospitalized recently because she had lost so much weight.

"Since I weaned her four months ago, she has never been well," Mariam says. She needed far more food and nutrients than her family could produce in their fields. She began to experience fever, swelling and a complete loss of energy before Mariam took her to the hospital.

I worry about what might happen to my daughter because of this sickness,” she says. “This is a great sorrow.

Hungry children and families like Djeneba and Mariam are living by faith alone that someone like you will intervene. For our neighbors in need, you are the answer to their constant prayers.

Giving Tuesday: One day to fight hunger. Your day to save a child’s life

On this global day of giving, join together with friends, family and neighbors across the world to reach God’s most vulnerable children with food, water and lifesaving essentials. Too many families like Mariam’s are making heartbreaking choices between rice to feed her family or the lifesaving healthcare her baby needs to survive.

And for only 24 hours, every dollar will be matched, so your love goes even further.

Don't wait! Our goal is to raise $150,000 on Giving Tuesday to reach our neighbors in distress, no matter how far. We can’t do it without you.

Thank you for your compassion. Thank you for making a difference. Thank you for saving a hungry child’s life.
