Situation Reports: Crisis in Syria No. 2

As the civil war in Syria continues, the number of civilian casualties, internally displaced people (IDP) and refugees continues to grow. According to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), 13.5 million people are in need of assistance, 6.6 million people are displaced within Syria and 4.8 million have sought refuge in neighboring countries such as Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Turkey and Egypt, as well as in several European countries.

Despite recent peace talks, Syrians remain in danger and continue to struggle to meet their basic needs, both in country and as they seek asylum elsewhere.
