ELSIE STROMBERG was just a child when she found herself living in a refugee camp in the throes of World War II. It was there that she received a school bag, which allowed her to continue her education.

Now Elsie and her husband live in Minnesota and attend Cambridge Lutheran Church, where they sew school bags that get filled with the essential supplies in LWR School Kits. Elsie is delighted that her backpacks go around the world to children in need, providing the opportunity she was once given.

Watch a special video where you can follow LWR Quilts and Kits on their journey from assembly to distribution. Meet Elsie and members of her congregation — of all ages — as they make and assemble Quilts and Kits. Then travel to a poor, remote region of Peru and meet hard-working families, for whom your gifts of Quilts and Kits provide warmth and comfort, and support health and education.
