Victor Bushamuka serves as Senior Technical Advisor for Agriculture for Lutheran World Relief and IMA World Health. He has over 20 years of experience working in international relief and development, with 12 years working for USAID’s Office for Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA). He has also worked with the the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization, Concern Worldwide and Helen Keller International.
Bushamuka has designed and managed agricultural programs in 11 countries in West and Central Africa and Asia, and most recently worked for Concern Worldwide in his native Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where he managed three agricultural assistance projects in areas affected by conflict. With USAID, he oversaw on average 25 multi-sectoral projects a year focusing on agriculture and food security in West and Central Africa, providing technical assistance to partners to improve agricultural program implementation.
Bushamuka has a Ph.D. in Agronomy and Natural Resources Management and M.S. in Crop Science and Sustainable Development from Cornell University and a B.S. from the University of Zaire in General Agronomy, Agricultural Economics.
