LWR's partner African Medical and Research Foundation in Uganda helps provide education to AIDS orphans and offers grants to their guardians. This project helps AIDS orphans obtain skills needed to support themselves and gives their guardians a repayable loan to start small businesses.

LWR's partner the Sisters of Mercy in Kenya are educating AIDS orphans and street children at the Mukuru Promotion Center in Nairobi. In addition to providing shelter and sometimes, the only meals they will eat that day, 5,000 children are learning skills needed to support themselves and their families.
