Meet families thriving three years after Typhoon Haiyan

LEONIDA CARUPO and her family lost nearly everything when Typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines on November 8, 2013. Their house was destroyed and they lost their only means of livelihood.

But what they didn’t lose was hope. Thanks to generous people like you, Leonida’s family has been able to rebuild their home; they’ve received a new, updated latrine and they’ve learned to raise fish for income.

You also gave Leonida’s community the gift of preparedness. Her community now has an emergency response plan, so families know what to do when future storms approach.
