Small Farmer FundThe Small Farmer Fund supports LWR’s agriculture programs. These programs provide the tools and training that small-scale coffee farmers need to improve their enterprises and make a better life for themselves. Most of the Small Farmer Fund comes from our Fair Trade partner, Equal Exchange, which donates $.20 of every pound of coffee, tea and cocoa Lutherans buy to the Fund. Since 1997, these donations have amounted to more than $550,000! To raise additional contributions for the Small Farmer Fund, why not put out a collection basket at coffee hour, or take a special collection during worship service? Every contribution makes it possible for LWR to help small-scale farmers work their way out of poverty. |
