Ugandan Man Carrying Sack of Beans

Uganda

In the 27 years LWR has been working alongside community leaders in Uganda, the people’s dedication to create a better life has never failed to inspire us.

Twenty years of civil strife in the north, often marked by the brutal tactics of a militant insurgent group, displaced a million people from their homes. HIV/AIDS has killed many families’ providers. Yet today, as LWR works with local partners to improve and sustain the livelihoods of rural, mostly women farmers and their families, we are filled with hope.
