Dr. David Lose Elected to Lutheran World Relief Board of Directors
Baltimore, February 14, 2014 – At its annual meeting January 28-29, Lutheran World Relief’s board of directors elected Dr. David Lose, Marbury Anderson Chair in Biblical Preaching and director of the Center for Biblical Preaching at Luther Seminary, to a three-year board term.
Lose, a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa., also holds master of divinity and master of sacred theology degrees from The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia. He earned his doctorate in homiletics from Princeton Theological Seminary. Ordained in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) in 1993, Lose served three ELCA congregations in New Jersey between 1993 and 2000.
Lose is the author of the books Making Sense of Scripture and Confessing Jesus Christ: Preaching in a Postmodern World. A popular speaker, Lose has lectured and led workshops throughout the country and internationally.

The board also elected officers for 2014. Edwards will continue as chair; Jay Hines-Shah as vice chair, and Jonathan Schultz as secretary.
