Due to the continuous war, internal political and ethnic conflicts, Iraq continues to experience a humanitarian crisis.

Since Iraqi security forces began an effort to retake Anbar Province from ISIS in May, more than 83,000 people have fled Fallujah. They join more than 75,000 people who were previously displaced and living in camps nearby.

Through our partner, the Lutheran World Federation, LWR will provide food, core relief items and hygiene kits to people fleeing Fallujah.

How You Can Help

  • Give a gift to LWR. Your cash donations to LWR’s general fund will support this response, as well as LWR’s other critical work around the world.
  • Make Quilts and Kits. Donating Quilts and Kits helps ensure we have an adequate supply to send around the world to partners who request them, as well as in response to emergencies.
  • Pray for the people affected by this crisis and the humanitarian aid staff working to reach them.
