FAIR TRADE FUTURES CONFERENCE
Lutheran World Relief (LWR) announces the first-ever “Fair Trade Futures Conference” in Chicago , September 30 - October 2, 2005.
The event will gather people dedicated to promoting economic justice and alleviating poverty through the marketplace – people of faith, members of nongovernmental organizations, students, business leaders, and Fair Trade consumers.
The Fair Trade Futures conference will create relationships among the diverse groups of people already committed to Fair Trade, and invite new participants to join in the movement. Joining Lutheran World Relief in sponsoring the conference are LWR's Fair Trade partners, SERRV International/A Greater Gift and Equal Exchange, as well as other allies in the Fair Trade movement – Catholic Relief Services, the Fair Trade Federation, the Fair Trade Resource Network, Oxfam America, and Ten Thousand Villages.
