Heartened at Heartwood, Wisconsin

Retreat participants discuss the book The Bottom Billion by Paul Collier

My heart gets built up every time I travel internationally to see our work or travel domestically to hear the commitment of our U.S. constituents.

At the recent LWR Renew and Discover Retreat at a picture-perfect, autumnal setting
(http://www.heartwoodconferencecenter.com/), I was amazed to hear how succinctly these core supporters summarized what we do together. For example, when asked about their LWR elevator speech, what quick points they use to tell others about LWR, here’s what they said:
  1. LWR is not about handouts.
  2. LWR is about transparency and accountability.
  3. LWR has many years of experience in their quest for justice.
  4. LWR helps people create their own lasting change.
  5. LWR makes it possible for millions of people to work together for common good.
That indeed (and in deed) is the heart of who we are!
