PACKING AND SHIPPING

  • Material donations should be assembled, then sorted and packed with only one type of kit per box. Label contents in LARGE, BLOCK LETTERS on the outside of the box. Note: Click here for special instructions for marking boxes with health kits.
  • Use strong cartons secured with packing tape. Please do not allow boxes to exceed 40 pounds.
  • Please do not use plastic or paper bags to pack donations.
  • Consider sharing shipping arrangements with neighboring Lutheran churches.

Write the name and address of your congregation on each box, label contents, and send prepaid to the LWR warehouse closest to you:

Lutheran World Relief Warehouse
398 E. Richmond Street
South St. Paul, MN 55075
651-457-9009

-OR-

Lutheran World Relief Warehouse
601 Main Street
PO Box 188
New Windsor, MD 21776
410-635-8795

The warehouses accept items year-round.
If you’re planning to personally deliver your donations, call the warehouse ahead of time for driving directions and to verify hours of operation. If you are sending or delivering your donations to an LWR warehouse:

Create a packing slip for each box and enclose it on top of the box contents. This will assist LWR with keeping accurate records of your gifts. Include the following information:

• Church Group Name
• Contact Person’s Name
• Congregation Name and Mailing Address
•Contents of the Box (remember to pack only one type of kit or quilt per box)

Local Drop-Off Sites
There are a number of volunteers throughout the U.S. who coordinate local drop-off sites for area parishes to bring their donations to rather than sending them to the warehouses. Click here to see if there are any LWR Ingatherings planned for your area.

If you are delivering your donations to a local LWR Ingathering:
Ask the ingathering coordinator for a receipt for your donation, or call 1-800-LWR-LWR-2 if a receipt is not available.
